The Worlds Most Northern Whisky Destillery

In the north of Sweden, BOX opens a distillery in Ã…dalens Art Center.

Local entrepreneurs has done a market research to evaluate the possibilities of starting a whisky-distillery by the shores of Ã…ngermanÃ¤lven.

In the old energy plant, recently used as a art exhibition, they will now build their distillery.

Swedish whisky-consultant Anders Jonasson guided the group of entrepreneurs through Scotland. During that journey the group visited several Scottish distilleries.
John McDougall mcdougallnosingsample_150Ã—150.jpg (experience from Springbank, Balvenie and Laphroigh among others) has after that been consulted to lead the northern distilleryâ€™s pursuit for the golden liquid.

BOX intend to produce Swedish single malt whisky in line with Scottish traditions and methods. Inside the old power plant, a complete distillery will be built up during the winter of 2008 and be in full production spring 2009.. The traditional copper bins will produce about 90000 liter of alcohol a year.
