Got a little mail from the makers of The Blackadder.
The Blackadder will be greeting friends and pouring drams at The Whisky Castle between 10.00 and 13.00 and 14.00 and 16.00 on Saturday 5th May. And they promise a very special dram for everyone that buys a bottle of Blackadder whisky at the Castle that day!
The Whisky Castle at Tomintoul has been a whisky shop for over a hundred years, serving local people and travellers taking the A939 through the central Highlands of Scotland. Tomintoul is reputed to be the highest village in the Highlands and is at the heart of Scotland’s Cairngorm National.
The business came into the ownership of Mike and Cathy Drury a few years ago. Since then they have greatly increased the Castle’s malt whisky selection and not just through the addition of Blackadder malts. There is little that is not available today through this fine shop.
The tiny village of Tomintoul at the centre of the Cairngorm National Park and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in Scotland. At 1164 ft. above sea level the tiny village of Tomintoul is the highest village in the Highlands and is the ‘Gateway’ to the newly formed Cairngorm National Park. The village has a population of around 360 with a further 600 living in the surrounding area.
Accommodation for visitors is well provided by three hotels, a hostel and many B&Bs. There are hundreds of miles of bike and walking trails in the area, as well as horse riding and every possible country-style pursuit imaginable.
Thanks Blackadder for telling us! Keep em coming!
