In the lack of Whisky news I thought I’d take the opportunity to tip you all about Facebook and it’s groups.
Facebook, one of the worlds most popular communities (many of you are probably members already) is spreading all over the world…fast. It’s one of the few places where I’ve actually caught up with friends from other parts of the world I haven’t seen in +10 years.
Once you join Facebook, you can start playing around with all kinds of things. Most of them quite unnecessary…but fun! But there are also features that is of value. One of those things are the groups inside Facebook.
A quick search on Whisky gave me +500 groups. However, most of them are quite small and doesn’t seem to have that much activity. But, some of them are quite packed. ?
Here are some of the Groups that has attracted most members:
Single Malt Scotch Whisky
Group Description: A place to sit back, relax, and discuss the finer points of Single Malt Scotch Whisky, especially the masterfully hand crafted ones distilled on the island of Islay - Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Bunnahabhain, Caol Ila, Lagavulin and Laphroaig.
Connoisseurs of Single Malt Scotch
Group Description: This group is for all those who love and appreciate single malt scotch whisky. If it is the only liquor you can sip straight and enjoy, if it is the only liquor you would buy if you had the money, if you swish it around in your mouth and savor it before swallowing, if you have ever given it to someone to try and were in utter disbelief that their face wrenched up in anguish as they sipped it, if you are insulted when people take ’shots’ of it, if you know what drinking it neat means….this is your group my friend. It is a taste that is not shared by everyone; those that can appreciate a good single malt and don’t even want to get drunk off of it because they want to savor the taste in full know what i’m talking about.
Islay Single Malt Scotch Club
Group Description: This is a place where you can share your magical experiences.
For those who respect Laphroaig, Ardbeg and Co.
Lagavulin is the greatest whisky in the world.
Group Description: The purpose of this group is for people to suggest what they consider to be superior whiskys. Hence, we can all hope to try new drams without the inevitable disappointment which follows attempting to better Lagavulin.
Waters for washing, Whiskys for drinking.. WE LOVE WHISKY
Group Description: If you like any of the following then you are a die-hard alchoholic:
- Jack daniels
-Johnny walker: White, red, black, Swing, green, gold and blue label…and old highland
-C.C.- Canadian Club
