The plans to start another Swedish distillery, The BOX distillery, based in an old power plant in Ådalen are soon one step further to becoming reality as the invitation to become a shareholder ends 15th of october.

BOX will start production of Swedish malt whisky in accordance with traditional Scottish methods. The old power plant building will house a complete distilling facility with a traditional copper mash tun capable of producing 90,000 litres of pure alcohol a year.

Why not have a Swedish Distillery? There are Belgian, French,English,Indian,Italian whisky distilleries plus many more being built.
The issue is they are NOT Scotch Whiskies. I hope they are well made by enthusiastic distillers proud to promote a national product and not passing it off as “Old Mac Bagpiper” to the poor old local drinkers!!
