I have started a group on YouTube where I save all whisky videos that I find of interest
While searching for some I ran into this home made guided tour of the Bladnoch distillery. It’s accompanied by Van Morrisson. I personally think it makes it feel as Bladnoch is closing down…which they aren’t.
Enjoy.

Hello ‘Man in the Grotto’.I’m sorry my clip seemed to impart the wrong message to you.It was meant to show the warmth of Bladnoch and that it would be a great place to be in ‘The Celtic New Year’
Slainte.
Hey Jim!
I do trust it is a great place to spend “The Celtic New Year” in. It was the moody feeling that got me in the wrong direction
You’re right,Van the Mans music can certainly be interpreted as being melancholic-but I wonder if it can’t also bring on feelings of warmth-especially to Celtic exiles.
It can be. But then I think the movie should have more things in it to make the viewer think about happiness. Stills of dead objects usually make people think sorrow or memory of something. Of course it could be happy memories, but then it has to be strengthen in some way.

Look at this IKEA ad for example how this really makes you feel sad about the lamp…then it ends
(I guess I’m one of the crazy ones)

A sign that sets the tone in the first 3 sec would change how people interpret it.
Ad stills of characteristic people representing the distillery with smiles on their faces. (ex. http://flickr.com/photos/julianamundim/1197014032/ )
Suddenly turn it into a piece of happiness. Happy memory sort of.
BUT, let me end with - I’m not a Celtic exile so I can’t really judge and I do like the film, it just brings different feelings to us
