Nikka Whisky Design

The Cool Hunter reports that Michael Young the Hong-Kong-based British designer of practically everything — has just designed a startling black bottle for Japanese Nikka Whisky.

I’m personally work in the creative business and I’m for differentiation and change. But my personal opinion is that this one looks like shit. What’s yours?

It is kind of strange though, case Michael usually has a great taste and does fantastic stuff.

Personally, I think it looks cool. Maybe they should make the shell-like pieces rubber so we can toss the bottle around, bounce it on our way home from the shop, etc.
As Chris(Nonjatta) has observed, it picks up design themes of the classic bottle from competitor Kabukin (Suntory). “Perhaps those flying shards symbolise Kabukin smashing?”
