Maybe they should make the shell-like pieces rubber so we can toss the bottle around, bounce it on our way home from the shop, etc. As Chris(Nonjatta) has observed, it picks up design themes of the classic bottle from competitor Kabukin (Suntory). "Perhaps those flying shards symbolise Kabukin smashing?" Personally, I think it looks cool.
