Handpicked by a team of experts at Glengoyne and personally approved by the signature of Robbie Hughes, Distillery Manager, the limited edition 14 Years Old and 20 Years Old is to meet the growing demand from Glengoyne enthusiasts keen to discover new and rare expressions from the highly respected distillery.
The two single casks have their own unique characteristics.
The 14 Years Old, mahogany in appearance, with a nose resembling crème brulée and vanilla ice cream with Black Forest Gateau, smells like a runaway dessert trolley doused in sherry. With its warm and spicy palate of dark cherries, sweet vanilla and dark bitter chocolate, it has a soft oak finish with a hint of salt.
The 20 Years Old has the appearance of burnt sugar, jiggling with a reassuring fluidity. With a nose of brown sugar, fresh strawberries, dark chocolate and fresh ground coffee, its palate is soft and silky with lots of sweet oak, rosehip syrup, sherry, raisins, pepper, marzipan and almonds, and a long, dry and peppery finish.
These malts are limited worldwide to 296 bottles of the 14 Years Old and 592 bottles of the 20 Years Old.
UK recommended retail prices per bottle start at £90 for the 14 Years Old and £125 for the 20 Years Old, reflecting their rarity.
