I stopped by Ardbegs website today and I noted that I’ve missed the news that another piece of ‘gunpowder’ whisky has come our way. But, better late than never.
The latest Ardbeg single malt whisky is called Corryvreckan - named after the fierce whirlpool to the north of Islay, and the Viking prince who braved the perilous tumult for the love for an Islay princess. If you wanna get your hands on the Corryvreckan you better act fast as it’s a limited 5000 bottles release and right now they’ve stopped taking orders. But I think you might have a chance if you keep your eyes open for that ‘add to basket’ button.
The launch is supported by a campaign site that contains a series of animated short movies that tell the story about Corryvreckan. I’m happy to share the movies with you here on WhiskyGrotto.com
The people over at Ardbeg reports that the Corryvreckan is a heady, intense and powerful dram. It encounter torrents of tarry ropes, creosote and linseed oil. It’s also said to deliver dangerous depths with the force of menthol, treacle and chilli sauce. All of this in a 57,1% strong delivery.
The suggested retail price is: £45
Soon you’ll be able to order on their site.
