Make your voice heard and you might be the lucky winner of a bottle of Auchentoshan

This is a blog and blog-owners love when people leave comment on posts. On top of that I launched a small community the other week and I’d love to have more people giving recommendations on whisky, destinations, whiskyclubs, websites and more.

So, in order for something to happen I’ve decided to launch a competition that I call the WhiskyGrotto August Challenge. And as every competition needs a prize I thank Auchentoshan for awarding the best comment/post with a bottle of Auchentoshan Classic Single Malt.

The rules are simple.
If you find a post that you have an opinion on, then use the “Leave a comment” and write what ever you want (as long as it has something to do with the subject of course). By doing this you have submitted your entry to the competition. Doing exactly same in the community is also an entry. In the end of the month I will scan all comments and posts in the community and I will award the best one (from both categories) with a bottle of Single Malt Classic from Auchentoshan. The winner will also be announced on WhiskyGrotto.com

A new whisky community inside WhiskyGrotto.com

Yesterday I pressed the ‘publish’ button and launched the new WhiskyGrotto community – devoted to thoughts on the world of Whisky and Whiskey. And now there’s a new menu option reading Community up to the right on this blog.

I’ve started the whole thing quite simple and used a tool called BBpress. This means no fancy profiles, no chat, no applications – basically no facebook just a very simple and user friendly way to share thoughts and ideas about whisky. If I see that this turns out well who knows where it will take us. It’s simple, if you know something that you think other people should know. Head into the community and register – start posting away.

These are the categories listed so far. Feel free to head into the suggestions category and post ideas on changes.

Members of the Grotto – This is the place where members of the forum hang out and present themselves to the world!

Tastings & Reviews – Have you recently been drinking a bottle that was like heaven or maybe hell? Let all of us know you reviews.

Travel & Destinations – Let us all know your secret pearls when it comes to travel.

Questions & Answers – Things you need to know. Spit it out in the open and see what comes back.

Buy, Trade & Sell – This is where you place bottles and other whisky stuff that you want to buy, trade or sell.

Polls & Surveys – Why not create a post and then ad a poll or a survey to it. The findings might be totally different from what you thought.

Whisky Clubs – Place links and information about your favorite Whisky and Whiskey clubs.

Brand sites – Brand owners [Note. Only whisky and whiskey brands]. Please make sure this section got the links to your sites.

Whisky & Whiskey Bars – Tell us about your favorite Whisky and Whiskey bars around the world.
